Anyone out there still not upgraded to PHP 5 yet? Well until recently I was guilty of this… At work we have been running PHP5 and MySQL 5 for quite some time now. After hours development/testing for me has been on MySQL 3.23 and PHP 4.3 until the other day.

The last time I installed Apache, MySQL and PHP I installed them separately and while it was not difficult, it was a bit clunky… This time, I was sure there must be an easier way. After a bit of googling, I found the answer.

I found the best install package for this called WAMP Server. It installs the latest versions of Apache, MySQL and PHP in one fell swoop. Also includes icon tray access to the menus where you can configure PHP, Apache and MySQL.
